Het is World Earth Day. Hoewel velen al overgestapt zijn op herbruikbare waterflessen en boodschappentassen, is het ook geen slecht idee om je beautyroutine\u00a0eens onder de loep te nemen. Het is namelijk makkelijk om beautyproducten onder andere te kiezen op basis van de prachtige verpakking (schuldig). Microbeads zijn kleine plastic bolletjes die vroeger in producten als tandpasta en scrubs zaten. Ze zijn verboden omdat ze het milieu vervuilen en schadelijk zijn voor dieren in zee.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Nee, je hoeft geen groene natuurtinten in te slaan om solidair te zijn met moeder aarde, we hebben het over duurzame en eco-friendly beauty. Er ontpoppen zich steeds meer duurzame (beauty)merken en ook grote merken slaan steeds vaker een eco-friendly weg in. Er is meer transparantie over welke ingrediënten er in de producten worden gestopt en er wordt nagedacht over de verpakking. Onze grote vriend: het wattenstaafje, zou eigenlijk verboden zou moeten worden. Waarom? Deze foto spreekt voor zich<\/a>. Ze lijken misschien onschadelijk, maar reinigingsdoekjes en wattenstaafjes zijn niet biologisch afbreekbaar waardoor deze resten rond blijven zwerven in de oceaan. Overspoelde stranden met afval<\/a> en dodelijke schade aan het leven in zee is het gevolg van deze vervuiling. Microbeads werden in januari al verboden. Ze zitten verstopt in talloze alledaagse producten zoals: tandpasta, shower gel, cleansers en noem het maar op om vervolgens te eindigen in de oceaan. Gelukkig zijn er beautymerken die een alternatief bieden. Die mooie verpakkingen van make-up- en beautymerken zorgen jaarlijks voor zo'n 12,7 miljoen ton plastic in de oceaan.
