About
My journey began in 2003 when I started training as a professional massage therapist. I first studied the art of Chinese massage, and over the years my curiosity led me to explore Western therapeutic techniques until I developed my own unique approach.
After more than two decades working abroad, I decided to bring everything I learned back to my beloved city of Rotterdam.
The name Curandera, meaning “healer,” reflects both my practice and my roots. In Hispanic American cultures, women with healing hands are often known as sobadoras. Alongside my professional training, I work intuitively with a gift passed down through generations of women in my family.
Curandera is different from traditional massage practices because my focus is entirely on the back and posterior chain of the body — where stress, emotional tension, and physical overload are often stored.
Many studies support the connection between emotional stress and muscular tension. Feelings such as anger, sadness, shame, stress, and anxiety can accumulate in the muscles, joints, tendons, and nervous system. This tension may also affect the lymphatic system, contributing to fluid retention and physical discomfort.
My treatments are designed to help release these accumulated tensions through therapeutic touch and specialized techniques.
