It wasn't up to my expectations. I think the main reason for my dissatisfaction with the result is that the talk that the stylist had with me was not explicit enough to get my wishes across and the possibilities clear. I had booked the 'Curly with top stylist incl. repair treatment and diffusion' for Eur 225,-, indicating in the order that I don't really have curls but just loose waves. I ended up with a different haircut than I think I had indicated. I came in with long hair and asked for layered shoulder length to enable the waves to appear more, but it ended up shorter and at the same time much less layered than I think we agreed (and less wavy than what I know my hair is capable of). Also the back was cut somewhat shorter than the front, something that we didn't get into during the conversation and which I do not like. As soon as I got home I cut some off the front myself to make the look more to my liking. Apart from more conversation it could have helped if she had asked for a picture of what I meant, to make sure we were on the same page and if necessary to explain to me what could and couldn't be done with my hair. As a customer it is hard for me to know how deep that discussion needed to go; I don't go to a hairdresser often since I had long hair which I use to cut myself.
In my opinion the price of 225 euro is not in balance with the result and experience. The appointment took just under 45 minutes. I must assume the 'curl repair treatment' happened during the washing and conditioning but there was no mention of this. For this price I expected more time and attention to what the client wants, and I think it would have helped if she had not just taken more time to talk before the cut, but also during the cut to discuss explicitly what she was aiming for, and keep checking whether that was indeed what I wished for. On my side I apologize for not doing my part in discussing deeper upfront and not expressing my dissatisfaction immediately after the cut (it is not easy to be assertive at such a time) and putting it into a review instead, but I think asking questions and talking deeply with your client until you are absolutely on the same page is necessary to defend what I consider to be a very expensive haircut.
