It was great!!! For some time now, I wanted to become a Mohawk-wearer. I think it's an incredibly cool and tough hairstyle. However, it took a while before I found the courage to actually take the step to get mohawked myself. Finding a barber who's skilled at it isn't easy, but Lodewijk is a true professional. I had read a very informative piece on the website of Bruhn, specially about the importance of careful styling to ensure that your brand-new Mohawk not only looks great but also feels good, and that was indeed what Lodewijk took care of. A month ago, Lodewijk gave me my new haircut, and this morning it was touched up. This time I had dyed my hair black before, to further enhance the contrast. I got fitted by him with a real classic "hard" Mohawk, the iconic one with that narrow, sharply cut, upright cockscomb on top and the shiny, smooth shaved sides. My scalp was indeed shaved completely bald right up to just above the curve of the skull. It was a great experience and quite special to feel the razor in places where it hadn't been before. The result, of course, takes some getting used to, as it's a huge transformation. A Mohawk like that makes you a real eye-catcher, and I was quite nervous when I left the barbershop the first time, the wind blowing on my bare skin on unknown spots reminding me of my complete make-over. You really have to ‘learn’ to wear a full Mohawk, to learn to walk around with confidence in public as a natural and self-evident aspect of your appearance. Combined with a leather biker jacket, it for sure makes you look like a badass. Therefore I'm excited to wear a true Mohawk from now on. Thanks, Lodewijk!
